My Favorite Furbaby

I’ve been longing for a nice female shih tzu since I started showing shih tzu in 2006. But until now, I haven’t met the right female shih tzu puppy for me. I don’t know how much longer I have to wait but I am willing to wait for the right one to come. Patience is all I need.

Since I started showing shih tzu in 2006, I always set my eyes on a male shih tzu even if I am looking for a female one. The first one I fell in love with was Yhomi. The next one was his son, Sphinx. Followed by his grandson, Kenzo. And now, my current favorite is his great grandson, Victor.

I have high hopes for Victor since the day he was born. Right now, I am seeing Victor as a show potential puppy. I just hope he will turn out to be a show dog in the future. He has a very nice personality although he is very playful right now. Training is all he need.

New Sleeping Bed

Do you remember my article wherein Maya has a favorite sleeping position? If you do not remember it, you can find Maya sleeping here. Since they want to sleep in this place, we decided to clean the space up and let them enjoy the space. This is the previous space:

Great, you remember it now. Since my puppies love to be on that place, we decided to clean it up and give it to them as their new resting place. We removed the things that were in that layer and put on some mat. They love resting in that place now. Here are some pictures of their new sleeping bed:

Feb 2012 PHGCI All Breeds Show

This is our first dog show for year 2012. We have been having difficulty joining dog shows these past few months due to conflict in work schedule. But we still tried to join the all breeds show held last Feb 4 in PCCI Activity Center, Marikina organized by the Phil Hound Group Club, Inc. It was Trista’s first show as a regular. We tried to show her even if her hair was not in proper condition. She got the Reserved Winner’s Bitch ribbon under the Australian judge Ms. Cathy Camac.

Sleeping Maya

My puppies usually sleep in different funny positions. I have a habit of staring at them quietly while they are sleeping. Maya (puppy 1) likes to sleep with her head/body hanging from one side. One day, we noticed Maya sleeping in an unusual position. We tried to take her pictures while in the said position. Take a look at these pictures while she is sleeping. Start viewing the last picture. Notice how she sleeps peacefully while slowly sliding down…

Shih Tzu Pups Playing

I just want to share the video of my puppies playing with each other. This video was taken when they were one month old. They are trying to discover the things around them. They are also trying to learn some bite inhibition. It is important for the shih tzu puppies to learn what is a “hard bite” and what is a “play bite”.

Deworming Time

Superness Shih Tzu puppies have been dewormed. I used Troy Wormban in deworming the puppies. It’s a great dewormer for puppies under 12 weeks of age. You only need 0.5 ml for every 500g bodyweight. Great thing about this dewormer is that my puppies love the taste of Wormban. It actually smells good too. I didn’t have a hard time administering the dewormer to my puppies. You can see in the video that they are still happy and active even giving them the dewormer.

Litter Update

Superness Shih Tzu litter is now a month old. They are already eating solid food. The puppies are now in the process of their potty training. In fact, puppy 2 already knows how to call us whenever he needs to pee or poo. There are several times in a day when we let them play outside their pen (but still inside our room). Puppy 2 is very amusing since he knows how to tell us that he wants to take some rest already. He will try to climb his pen and, if unsuccessful, will whine at us to put him inside his pen. This is why I think puppy 2 is very intelligent. At a very young age, he already knows how to communicate with us.
